Typical Damage: some damage with a Storm Surge of 9 to 10.
3. Hurricane Floyd began in Africa's coast and began moving towards the US. The Bamhamas were the first to be hit and at the borderof the east coast, Floyd took gradual turns and stayed on the east coast heading north. Floyd was a level 1 on Saffir-Simpson scale but the amount of water it carried put it in history for it rainfall. The floods that Floyd caused was resposible for 50 of the 56 deaths in the US, which also cost us $6 billionin damage. With hurricane Floyd, it wasn't the winds that cause the most damage, it was the rain fall and the floods the did it for the US.
